The Red Rose Recovery North Team was delighted to attend the launch of the new Bay Veterans Association (BVA) drop-in hub at the Fire and Ambulance Station in Lancaster.

BVA invited us along following previous BRiC funding that helped support their service in Morecambe. The event brought together a range of organisations and community members, including SSAFA, the Mayor of Lancaster and his wife, local veterans, and other supporters.

Throughout the day, attendees heard from both BVA and SSAFA about the valuable work they do to support veterans and their families. We also had the opportunity to look around the new hub, which will host a drop-in service on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, providing a welcoming space for veterans to access support, advice, and social connection.

The event also included demonstrations from the firefighters, giving everyone an insight into their work and adding to an enjoyable and informative day.

It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and commitment behind the new hub. We were warmly welcomed and exchanged contact details, creating opportunities to strengthen partnership working and explore future collaborations to better support veterans across the area.
