On 28th August our Leadership Team consolidated their learning of project management by arranging and delivering a 15-mile fundraiser walk from Preston to St Anne’s. The Red Rose Recovery Leadership Program aims to develop people to become leaders in their community to give back, address stigma and connect people in recovery through projects developed within an asset-based approach.

As part of the day, we had live entertainment from our own musicians who performed on the band stand. It was a gorgeous day, with lots of energy and input. The total amount raised was an amazing £1200 which goes towards supporting more Service User’s coming through recovery and into the charity.

Our weekly live LUF Lounge, which is a virtual space on Facebook every Saturday evening at 5pm, organised by the Lancashire User Forum leadership, was streaming at the same time. One of our Red Rose Recovery staff and some of our volunteers tuned in live from the walk. Everyone involved had a great day and we were able to raise significant awareness around addiction, mental health and recovery.
