The DDN Conference is always one of the highlights of the year for Red Rose Recovery, bringing together staff, volunteers and beneficiaries from across all our localities to celebrate recovery, learn from others, and strengthen connections.
Ahead of the conference, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries from across our localities travelled to the venue. It was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a meal together, catch up, and strengthen connections before the busy day ahead. The evening was full of conversation, laughter and anticipation, setting the tone for a fantastic conference.
After an early start on Thursday, we arrived at the conference ready for a packed day of learning, networking and inspiration. As delegates collected their lanyards, there was a real buzz throughout the venue, with organisations from across the country coming together to share ideas, celebrate recovery, and showcase the incredible work taking place across the sector.
One of the proudest moments of the day was seeing members of the Lancashire User Forum (LUF) take to the main stage. Nick Stones, Chris Whitehead, Scott Williams, Lucy Nowak and Donna Mansfield delivered a powerful and inspiring presentation, sharing the impact of the LUF movement and demonstrating how lived experience can transform lives and communities.
The Lancashire User Forum is a volunteer-led recovery community that supports people on their recovery journeys while making a positive difference across Lancashire through practical community projects. Their work helps members build confidence, develop new skills, establish routine, strengthen teamwork, and demonstrate the positive contribution people in recovery make within their communities.
Throughout the day, Red Rose Recovery also hosted an exhibition stand where staff and volunteers took turns speaking with organisations, professionals and delegates from across the country. The stand created a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work taking place across all our localities, promote our lived experience-led approach, share our mission, and build new partnerships and connections within the recovery sector.
The conference programme featured a wide range of thought-provoking presentations, inspiring speakers and powerful personal stories, all highlighting the importance of recovery, resilience and hope.
